Our Pillars
Phi Kappa Theta was founded on five principles, which make up our five pillars: Spiritual, Social, Intellectual, Fraternal, and Leadership. The men of Phi Kappa Theta pursue excellence in their endeavors in these pillars throughout their four years in the fraternity.
Spiritual
The Spiritual Pillar is the one value that sets Phi Kappa Theta apart from other fraternities. Our members recognize the importance of growing not only as men in society, but as sons of God. In college, growing in your faith life can be difficult to do as an individual, but it is much easier when your brothers desire and encourage your betterment through:
Bible Studies
Spiritual Retreats
Daily Mass
FOCUS Greek
Mission Trips
Catholic Speakers
Social
Phi Kappa Theta strives to build up connections with other fraternities and sororities within the Greek community. We also stretch beyond the Greek community to build networks with other groups and organizations throughout the campus and the Lincoln community. The Vice President of Social schedules events such as formals, intramural sports, movie nights, tailgates, ice skating, sorority brunches, and more.
Intellectual
Success in academics is stressed by each member in Phi Kappa Theta. Our intention is to help each one of our new members have an easy transition into college and excel above their peers. New members have required study hours proctored by active brothers from a variety of majors to assist in homework. Members are provided with study materials, tutoring, and free printing.
Over 60% of members have above a
3.5 GPA
Fraternal
Phi Kappa Theta fosters the development of lifelong friendships and accountability through:
Weekend & School Break Trips
Visits to other Phi Kappa Theta Chapters across the country
Brotherhood sporting events
March Madness & Fantasy Football
Late-night food runs
Leadership
Members are introduced to a wide variety of leadership and service opportunities such as Phi Kappa Theta officer positions, partnerships with the Teammates Mentoring Program, the UNL Dance Marathon, FOCUS Discipleship, Newman Center Board positions, the UNL BIG event, and many more.
